How do I generate my first MCP API key?

Log into your Desplega dashboard, navigate to Settings → API Keys, and click "Generate MCP Key". Copy the key immediately as it will only be shown once for security reasons. Use this key to configure your IDE integration.

Can I use the same API key for multiple developers?

While technically possible, we recommend generating separate API keys for each team member. This enables better usage tracking, access control, and the ability to revoke individual keys without affecting the entire team.

What happens if I lose my MCP API key?

API keys cannot be recovered for security reasons. If you lose your key, simply generate a new one from your dashboard and update your IDE configuration. The old key will remain valid until you explicitly revoke it.

Do MCP API keys expire?

MCP API keys do not expire automatically but remain valid as long as your Desplega subscription is active. You can manually revoke keys anytime from your dashboard Settings → API Keys section.
